Welcome from the Pastor Visiting a new church can be an intimidating experience. On several occasions I have been the visitor and experienced the discomfort of feeling like I was among strangers. Since then, I've learned that the church exists for people just like me. Our church is made up of people from all walks of life who are on an exciting journey, a journey of faith. This journey is not an aimless wandering but an adventure marked by purpose. Jesus is our purpose and our gathering together is done on behalf of those who don't yet know Him. We call this, “being community for the world.” The road map for this journey of following Jesus, also described as discipleship, is different for each person; we are all unique. At the same time we share similar struggles, challenges and victories. This is why a supportive community is central to the life of a follower of Jesus. How do you get connected with those in community?
Here is our proposed path into community
Vineyard Voyage This is a 4-week informal series offered quarterly that is designed for those new to the Vineyard, to our church, or to the faith. We eat dinner together, laugh together and begin to build relationships. Taught by our Pastoral and teaching Staff, this is a great forum for meeting key leaders in the Vineyard Church and asking the questions about the church or the faith.
Sunday Evening Classes A call to leadership is a call to 1). Action or service, 2). A call to training, and 3) A call to prayer. Vineyard Training Center is designed around these three principles and around the idea that everyone gets to play. We all have an opportunity to be part of the work that God is doing in His Kingdom here on earth. Our curriculum is a series of Bible based classes that emphesize the practical application of the Kingdom of God actuated through us in everyday life. It also offers another very valuable venue to meet others and grow in your knowledge of Jesus and His word. These classes are interactive, questions are encouraged and all are offered free or the cost of paterials. Classes start in this FALL so sign up NOW! Email - vtc@vcfna.org to enroll.
Life Fitness and Small Groups Small groups meet in a variety of locations and provide an opportunity to develop deeper relationships through interacting with other people in the small group, Gods Word, sometimes over a meal, or praying and worshiping together. Check out a list of small groups, locations, times and topics being discussed in the groups. "click" smallgroups and check it out.
All of our community activities are conducted in an atmosphere of love, acceptance and grace. We accept people just as we find them because that is what Jesus did with each of us. We hope that you and your family will be enriched in your relationship with Jesus by your connection the transforming power of Gods presence and the His people , the church. Let us share together this journey of faith in Jesus Christ.
Blessings, Pastor Michael Skinner pastormike@vcfna.org
